The Finntutors Learning System: FinnAI, TutorBot and RevisionBot

How the Finntutors Learning System works: FinnAI for the case study pre-seen, TutorBot for the objective tests, RevisionBot for E, P and F theory.

Short answer

FinnAI answers your case study questions from the pre-seen for your sitting and our own analysis of it. TutorBot teaches and tests each objective test subject from our notes, in CIMA's question formats. RevisionBot rebuilds the E, P and F knowledge a case study expects, one short lesson at a time. All three sit beside our tutors, not in place of them.

Every Finntutors course now comes with part of one learning system, and each part is built for one job. FinnAI knows your case study pre-seen. TutorBot gets you through the objective tests. RevisionBot teaches the E, P and F theory behind the case studies. Around them sit our tutors, live classes and marked mocks. This guide shows what each part does, what it is best at and what it looks like inside.

Which part is for which exam?

Part For What it knows Where you get it
FinnAI The case studies: OCS, MCS and SCS The pre-seen for your exam window, our pre-seen and industry analysis, model answers and notes Every case study pack
TutorBot The nine objective tests, E1 to F3 Finntutors' exclusive notes for that subject, chapter by chapter Every objective test course
RevisionBot The theory behind each case study Our revision notes for E1, P1, F1 (OCS), E2, P2, F2 (MCS) or E3, P3, F3 (SCS) Our Revision Courses: an add-on to any case study pack, and included with some packs and bundles

The split is simple. TutorBot is for passing the objective tests. RevisionBot is for understanding the theory well enough to use it in a written answer. FinnAI is for knowing the case company inside out.

FinnAI: every question about your pre-seen, answered in seconds

The case study exams reward one thing above all: applying what you know to the company in the pre-seen. FinnAI is trained on the pre-seen for your exam window and on our own pre-seen and industry analysis, so its answers are about your company, not a textbook one.

What it does well

  • Answers from your sitting's own material. Ask "Walk me through Tendra's financial performance" or "Who really runs this business?" and it works from the pre-seen pages, not from general knowledge.
  • Pushes you rather than handing you answers. Under every reply are four buttons: Go deeper, Explain simply, Test me on it and As an exam answer. The last one shows how the same point should be written in the exam.
  • Sets exam-style questions. Ask it to test you and it writes a requirement in the exam's style, with a suggested time, then waits for your answer.
  • Flashcards that stop at your exam date. FinnAI's flashcards bring back what you got wrong. Nothing is scheduled after your exam, so every card you need comes back in time.

The case map. For each pre-seen we also build a case map: every fact in the pre-seen, grouped by theme and joined into the arguments you can make in the exam. Every page of the pre-seen is covered. The maps for the current pre-seens are free to open from our pre-seen page.

One rule we keep: FinnAI tells you to check any figure against the pre-seen before you use it in an answer. It is a fast way to find and understand things, and the pre-seen is still the source.

TutorBot: a study partner for each objective test

Each objective test course has its own TutorBot, for all nine subjects from E1 to F3. It teaches from Finntutors' exclusive notes for that subject, and every answer shows which chapter it comes from, so it explains things the way your course does.

Its five modes

  1. Teach me. Pick a chapter and it teaches one topic at a time: the idea, what to remember and how it is tested, then a quick check question.
  2. Quiz me. Exam-style questions, marked as you go, with the reason behind the right answer and the chapter to revise.
  3. Weak spots. Questions you got wrong come back, so you fix them rather than repeat what you already know.
  4. Mini test. 10 questions in 15 minutes.
  5. Mock exam. 60 questions in 90 minutes, like the real one, with a timer, flag for review and a score for each chapter at the end.

What makes the practice realistic. The questions use the formats CIMA uses in the objective tests: multiple choice, "choose TWO" multiple response, drop-down, matching and number entry. Marking works the way CIMA's does: a question is either fully right or scores nothing, and there are no negative marks. There are more than 2,900 practice questions across the nine subjects. Before a question reaches students it is solved twice from our notes without seeing the answer, then checked again from CIMA knowledge alone. Questions that fail a check are fixed or held back.

RevisionBot: the E, P and F theory, for case study students

Many case study students come through exemptions or CIMA's Finance Leadership Program and have never sat the objective tests for their level. Yet every case study expects you to use that theory. RevisionBot is built for exactly this. There is one for each level: OCS covers E1, P1 and F1, MCS covers E2, P2 and F2, and SCS covers E3, P3 and F3, in roughly 950 short lessons across the three.

MCS RevisionBot: a 12-question starting check, then every topic marked learnt, shaky, start here or not yet
MCS RevisionBot: a 12-question starting check, then every topic marked learnt, shaky, start here or not yet

How it works

  • Find your gaps first. A 12-question check, about 5 minutes, shows which topics to start with.
  • A map of every topic. Each one is marked Learnt, Shaky, Start here or Not yet, so you always know what to do next. Teach me what I need next picks it for you.
  • Six steps per topic: a question to get you thinking, the idea in plain words, the idea in a real business, a check question with hints, a short written explanation in your own words, and a revision table to keep.
  • Feedback on what you write. The case study is a written exam, so RevisionBot asks you to explain the idea back in 3 or 4 sentences. It tells you what you got right and what to add.
  • It comes back. Each topic returns a few days later with one quick question, so it sticks.

What sets them apart

  • Built on our own material. FinnAI uses our pre-seen and industry analysis for your sitting. TutorBot and RevisionBot teach from our exclusive notes. None of them guesses from the open internet.
  • Built for how CIMA tests you. TutorBot uses CIMA's objective test formats and marking. FinnAI and RevisionBot make you apply and write, because the case studies are written exams.
  • Checked before students see it. Practice questions are checked three ways before they go live, and anything doubtful is held back.
  • Next to a real tutor. FinnAI, TutorBot and RevisionBot answer at any hour. Our tutors run the live classes, and your mocks come back marked within 48 hours. Finntutors has won CIMA's Global Pass Rate Excellence Award four times, from 2022 to 2025, and CIMA lists Finntutors Academy as an award holder on its page of tuition providers in India.
